Goal #1: Student engagement through improved questioning

Evidence of my Persuit
My goal of improved questioning is illustrated through the feedback I received from my Teacher Associate in my Summative Evaluation (see below). This highlights my dedication and intention of improving in the general area of instruction and more specifically with asking questions.
My second example that demonstrates my growth as it relates to questioning is evident in my planning process. I found that establishing a complete understanding of the content had a dramatic improvement on my ability to formulate specific probing questions to my students. This aided me in formative assessment as well as helping students come up with the solution to their own question. Preparation for asking these questions started with lesson planning. I have attached a lesson plan (see below) that illustrates some initial questions I had planned to ask during the introduction of my lessons (usually as a review of previous knowledge) as well as review questions to summarize the content covered in the lesson.
Goal #2: Improved classroom climate and leadership

Evidence of my Persuit
After completing my orientation day with my class in October, I came to realize that I had a hill to climb with respects to building rapport with my students. I began the process of building relationships on the very first day. I knew it was important to earn their trust as soon as possible, I just didn't know if or when it would occur. In reality, it took nearly two weeks until I knew that I had some level of rapport with the students. This came through memorizing names, learning about them on a personal level, and giving them the opportunity to learn about me as well. I did my best to be available to the students before, during and after class. I took the time to work with a Leadership group and class supervision over the lunch hours. I also volunteered to provide snacks for breakfast and afterschool meals to students in need.
As time progressed, I began to notice the level of comfort the students began to demonstrate with me. I didn't realize, however, the full extent of how far our relationship had come until our last day together. Every Monday our class completes a "Significant Seminar", which sees each student select one other person in class to record what makes them unique and significant. I received one Significant Seminar from each of my students. It was an indescribable feeling that I'm sure only other teachers could understand. I've attached some examples of the comments I received from my student's below... I really do consider myself lucky to have had such a great experience.
